BECOME A SPONSOR

WE WANT TO REESTABLISH WHAT IT MEANS TO BE A SPONSOR

We try to foster a relationship between the sponsor and the sponsor child.

Children living in extreme poverty don’t always have a lot of people in their corner, offering support and encouragement.

We recognise that the importance of a sponsor exceeds their role of paying school fees; a sponsor can prove to a young person that they are worth investing in.

How our Sponsorships Work.

We provide Sponsorship programs top help children living in Maasai access education, most of our work currently targets children living in Kadjiado Country.

The purpose of our sponsorship programs is to ensure that children are fully supported in their journey through school and equip with everything that they need to perform to their full potential in school.

We take into consideration everything that may be relevant on a practical, cultural, and emotional level for a child to succeed in school.

We work closely with the families and community to get their blessing and consent for the child to go to school, we share the importance and impact of education with the families and were needed we provide financial support to ensure the child in not required to support the family through working outside of school.

In Maasai culture, young girls are married off at a young age by their parents to financially support the rest of the family. It sounds horrible, but young girls have been used as a form of currency for many years, and if pure communities in Maasai, fathers often feel they have no other option but to marry off their daughters to finically support the rest of their children and wives.

We try to foster a relationship between the sponsor and the sponsor child. Children living in extreme poverty don’t always have a lot of people in their corner offering support and encouragement. We recognise that the importance of a sponsor exceeds their role of paying school fees; a sponsor can prove to a young person that they are worth investing in.

We encourage our sponsors to write to their sponsor children and vice versa; this is done through the support and moderation of the teachers and through our project managers.

THE SPONSOR.

WHAT ARE YOU PAYING FOR WHEN YOU SPONSOR A CHILD?

  • School Fees.

  • Exams.

  • Accommodation.

(if this is needed due to lack of school in community).

  • Uniform.

  • School books and stationary.

For a child to attend school they must have the school materials and uniform otherwise they will be sent home by their teachers. It is very important that a child is equip with all they need to succeed in school.

Obviously we do not assume that everyone is in the financial position to commit to the entirety if a child's school associate costs. If you are in a position where you can help in part we assign two donors to one child to ensure the child remains in school.

WHAT ARE YOU COMMITING TO?

The reason we invest into education is because we understand it have the ability to help a child access greater opportunities in their future. Our focus is to make sure ever child successfully completes their:

PRIMARY, SECONDARY, HIGH SCHOOL & TERTIARY EDUCATION.

We do not finish our journey with a child until we are confident that we have given them every possible opportunity to invest in their strengths and set themselves up for the brightest future possible.

COSTS:

Cost vary a lot dependant on the Grade or Level of education the Child in attending, whether they need to attend Boarding School , if they require Accommodation or are continuing to Tertiary Education.

FINDING THE RIGHT MATCH!

If you are considering sponsoring a child, we first discuss:

  • What you can comfortably commit to spending per year.

  • The duration you are comfortable sponsoring a child - If you are able to commit to the fee increase as a child progresses through their education.

  • Personally who you are passionate about supporting - if you would like to support the education of a girl avoiding marriage, or if you would like to keep a Maasai boy in school instead of herding cattle.
